§ 3-107. Purchase or possession by underage persons.

(a)

No person under twenty-one (21) years of age shall purchase or knowingly possess any alcoholic beverage. Upon being charged with such offense, where appropriate, the department of public safety shall notify the offender's parents by telephone or by certified mail, return receipt requested, of such offense.

(b)

No person under twenty-one (21) years of age shall attempt to purchase or possess any alcoholic beverage or misrepresent his age in any manner for the purpose of obtaining alcoholic beverages. Upon being charged with such offense, where appropriate, the department of public safety shall notify the offender's parents by telephone or by certified mail, return receipt requested, of such offense.

(c)

Any person who violates any provision of this section may, upon conviction, be subject to penalties as set forth in section 1-8
